Old Jefferson Parish Courthouse (Carrollton, Louisiana). This structure was erected as the Jefferson Parish Courthouse in 1854 with the designs of Henry Howard. That was back when the town of Carrollton was the Jefferson Parish seat (1852-1874). The city of New Orleans eventually annexed the town and Carrollton became a neighborhood in Orleans Parish as it is today. The Jefferson Parish seat was moved across the Mississippi River to the community of Gretna. This former courthouse today functions as the Audubon Charter School.
